I personally LOOOVVEEEE red velvet cake. Original, out of the box, a mix… all of it! I’ve been craving this little snack and finally got the chance this weekend to mix these treats up:
Red Velvet Puppy Chow Recipe
* 5 Cups of Rice Chex Cereal
* 3/4 Cup of White Chocolate Morsels
* 1/2 Cup of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
* 3/4 Cup of Red Velvet Cake Mix
* (optional) 2 oz of Peanut Butter
* (optional) 1/2 Cup of Powdered Sugar
—Prep Rice Chex Cereal for mixing by placing them in a large Bowl.
—Prep Red Velvet Cake mix for coating by playing the Mix in a Large Plastic Bag (add powdered sugar here if you wish)
—Place White Chocolate Morsels and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels in a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, mix the morsels with a rubber spatula. Heat in microwave for another 30 seconds and mix morsels with rubber spatula until thoroughly mixed (add peanut butter after morsels are thoroughly mixed, if desired)
—Cover Rice Chex Cereal in chocolate coating. Be careful to evenly distribute the chocolate over the rice chez while covering them. I covered the rice chex in 3 increments.
—Place covered rice chex cereal in to plastic bag with Cake Mix, and shake to coat!
—Allow the coated cereal to cool on a cookie sheet/baking pan.
These treats taste just like the Cake Batter you mix from the box!
